SMS Policy

Anvil by Zonde · Last updated April 2026

This policy covers SMS messaging sent through Anvil. It does not cover Zonde Monitoring SMS alerts; see zonde.io/sms-policy.html for that.

What Messages We Send

Anvil sends SMS text messages on behalf of tenant businesses (HVAC and similar service companies) for operational purposes only. Examples include:

Every Anvil SMS identifies the actual sending business by name in the message body (for example: "Hi John Smith, this confirms your Bob's HVAC appointment…") so recipients always know which business the message is from.

Anvil does not send marketing, promotional, or advertising SMS.

How Consent Works

Anvil is a multi-tenant platform: tenant businesses use the platform to manage their own customers. Tenants are contractually required, under our Terms of Service, to obtain SMS consent from each of their customers before adding them to the platform with a phone number flagged for SMS. Common ways tenants collect consent include:

Anvil does not directly verify each individual customer's consent — the tenant is the entity that collected it. Anvil acts as a service provider (data processor) to the tenant for SMS delivery.

SMS consent is never required to use Anvil itself — tenants may use the platform without enabling customer SMS, and customers may decline to provide a phone number when scheduling service.

End recipients can read a plain-language explanation of why they're receiving messages on the Anvil SMS Disclosure page.

Message Frequency

Message frequency depends on how often you have appointments, proposals, or invoices with the service business that uses Anvil. Typical recipients receive 1–4 messages per appointment cycle (initial confirmation request, optional reminder, optional proposal/invoice/signoff messages).

How to Opt Out

Reply STOP to any Anvil SMS message to immediately opt out of all SMS messages from the Anvil toll-free number.

You can also contact the service business directly and ask them to remove your phone number from SMS notifications, or email Anvil at [email protected].

After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation message. You will not receive any further SMS messages from the Anvil toll-free number unless you opt in again.

How to Opt Back In

If you previously opted out and would like to receive appointment SMS again, reply START, YES, or UNSTOP to the Anvil toll-free number.

Help

Reply HELP to any Anvil SMS message for assistance. For issues with a specific appointment, contact the service business that scheduled it. For platform-level questions about Anvil, email [email protected].

Costs

Anvil and your service business do not charge you for SMS messages. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.

Supported Carriers

Anvil SMS is supported on all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and most regional carriers. Delivery is subject to carrier network availability and toll-free message routing.

Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Phone numbers are stored securely and used solely for delivering the appointment confirmations, proposals, invoices, and signoffs your tenant service business has scheduled. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
